The popular Central London Person-Centred Encounter Group has been running for over two years and is open to anyone interested in the Person-Centred Approach. It aims to offer trainees, therapists/counsellors and care professionals an opportunity to come together for support and personal/professional development. We are affiliated to The Person-Centred Association (formerly BAPCA) and we are part of their national Local Group Network.
The encounter group meetings are not facilitated and are inclusive and open to all people with an interest in the person-centred approach. We usually have two groups of around 10/12 attendees in each. They are unstructured and can change each month according to who attends and what people bring and want to focus on. We offer a confidential space, allowing people the chance to be open and share their experiences, challenges and beliefs in a safe, accepting and warm environment. Meetings are for 2.5 hours and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) certificates are provided.
The group meets on the Third Saturday of every month from 10.30am to 1pm.
The cost is £5 and includes refreshments.
If you would like to attend an encounter group meeting, please email: firstname.lastname@example.org to join the email list, and / or join the Facebook Group.
Two weeks before each meeting an invitation reminder is posted on the Facebook page and an email is also sent out. Everyone then emails back to reserve a place. Places usually go quickly and there may be a waiting list.
